This bus and rail combination excursion affords you an opportunity to view the unparalleled beauty of Alaska from two completely different perspectives — one way by train and the other by bus.  The bus portion is more than a mere transfer as with other companies.  We offer several stops along the highway route with a guaranteed visit to the Skagway Scenic Overlook — one of Skagway’s most scenic viewpoints!

Skagway’s most scenic ALASKAN experience begins with a relaxing 1 3/4 hour train excursion from Skagway to the top of the White Pass Summit and beyond (this tour is operated in reverse order with bus first departures as well).  Travel even further into Canada on this 28-mile journey all the way to the Fraser Train Depot in British Columbia!  This is by far the most extravagant display of spectacular panoramic beauty there is to offer in all of Skagway.

Upon arrival at the train depot at Fraser (Canadian Customs) passengers are transferred to a comfortable bus for their return to Skagway while our entertaining guides amuse them with captivating stories of local lore and the Klondike Gold Rush!

With stops all along the way there will be ample opportunities for photo enthusiasts to view and photograph cascading waterfalls, majestic mountains, glaciers, the roaring Skagway River, historic sites and other breathtaking panoramic vistas!homepage-slider_0009_Layer 12

We did this combo tour on 8/19/15. I booked it before we left home for our Alaska trip. Our meet time was 11:50 am at the Skagway Boat Harbor. We were taken to the train station where we were lucky enough to be in the last rail car #314 Alesk River. There was a small open platform on the back of the rail car if you wanted to take pictures or just enjoy the fresh air. The seats were comfortable and on the ride we passed many historic and scenic areas. There was a free booklet called All Aboard that contained lots of information and some nice pictures. There is a restroom on board the train. You will need your passport as when we arrived in Fraser a Canadian customs official boarded the rail car and we had to show our passports. We had a short amount of time in Fraser to stretch your legs, take in the scenery, use the restroom facilities before getting on our van to drive back to Skagway. Our driver was James and he entertained us with information and stories. He made several stops like the Welcome to Alaska sign, a nice waterfall, and other scenic stops. We arrived back in Skagway around 3:00 pm. This was a great time and I can highly recommend this tour.

One of the best shore excursions ever! We booked this excursion from a link our travel agent gave to us after we booked the cruise. We did this excursion in early May, 2017.
The trip included a bus ride (a small bus) up to the White Pass, where we boarded the train for the ride back to Skagway. I was skeptical about a bus ride when we booked the tour but that quickly changed within minutes after the bus left. Our driver/guide, Mike, was the best guide I have had in 15 cruises! He made the bus ride very enjoyable with humorous and informative stories about the breathtaking scenery. The bus made frequent stops for photo opportunities.
The return trip aboard the train was great!

I recommend this trip for anyone visiting Skagway with or without a cruise!
